EEF Series

The Longines EEF Series is a series of show jumping competitions in the form of a Nations Cup. Competitors compete in teams of four, putting more pressure on the riders than in individual competitions. The final ranking is determined by the sum of the penalty points of the team's three best riders over the two rounds of competition. If there are at least two teams in the lead after two rounds, a jump-off is held. The competing teams each choose a rider who must complete the course without faults and in the shortest possible time.

Coordinated by the European Equestrian Federation, the series aims to help European countries develop their horses and riders. The series is supported by Longines and helmet manufacturer KEP Italia, a safety partner. Teams from across the continent competed in the qualifying round in four regions: Central, Western, Northern, and Southern. After eight qualifying rounds, national teams competed in the series' semifinals, which took place in Deauville, France; Budapest, the Hungarian capital; and Warsaw, Poland. The top ten teams advanced to the grand final, which will be held in Avenches for the next consecutive year.

What is the Nations Cup?

The Nations Cup is a competition in which riders from European countries compete in teams of four. The final ranking is determined by the sum of the penalty points of the team's top three riders after two rounds. If there are at least two teams in the lead after two rounds, a jump-off is held. The teams vying for victory choose a rider, who must complete the parkour flawlessly and in the shortest possible time.

Representing your country on the international stage is always a great honor, and in the case of a team competition, the pressure is even greater. In addition, each horse-rider pair must negotiate two challenging rounds, or even three in the case of a jump-off, meaning the competing pairs must demonstrate not only speed but also precision to remain clear.

Why is it difficult?

Supporting young talents

One of the goals of the Longines EEF Series is to support promising young riders. Each country participating in the Nations Cup must nominate at least one rider under 25 to the team. This is an extraordinary opportunity for young riders to gain experience and learn from the best riders in Europe. Each Longines EEF Series competition is a step closer to the world's best competitions.
